Kaweka Hospital is a state of the art 4 Star Green Star designed new private hospital in Hastings. Gemco started this project pre-COVID19, with stage 1 opening in September 2022. It is currently in the process of gaining Green Star accreditation. Gemco is also building stage 2 – a 7000m2 multi-tenanted health facility.
This project was a new build, with the previous building demolished. Making the ground suitable and stable along with the building of a new facility including the design process and applying the outcomes to the build for Green Star 4 star. The construction included a mostly brick exterior with glazing and architectural features throughout the bricks. There was varying roof pitches to represent the Kaweka ranges, a notable landmark in the distance.
